BAKTRIA, Indo-Greek Kingdom. Philoxenos, circa 125-110 BC. Drachm (Silver, 15x15 mm, 2.77 g, 12 h), Indian standard, uncertain mint in Paropamisadai or Gandhara. BAΣIΛEΩΣ - ANIKHTOΥ - ΦIΛOΞENOΥ Diademed and draped bust of Philoxenos to right. Rev. 'Maharajasa apadihatasa Philasinasa' (in Karoshti) Philoxenos on horseback to right; to lower left; below, Σ and monogram. Bopearachchi 4E. HGC 12, 271. Beautifully toned and with a fine pedigree. A few light scratches, otherwise, about extremely fine.
